Imphal, June 08 2025:
Assam Rifles initiated fogging drives and conducted medical camp for people stranded in various relief camps in Kakching district.
In a release, IGAR (S) PRO informed that in response to the probability of spread of water-borne diseases due to stagnant water caused by recent floods, AR carried out fogging at relief camps including Keirak Sanatombi High School, Keirak Awang Kangjeibung, Waikhong, Sugnu, Chapki Moblem, Serou Part-III, Y Thingkhanphai, Old Age Home near Kha Manipur College, and Phundrei village.
These camps house flood-affected families who are facing increased mosquito breeding due to stagnant water.
The drive mitigated vector-borne disease risks and ensured safer living conditions.
A medical camp was also held at the Old Age Home IDP Camp in Kakching on Saturday to provide timely medical aid and raise public health awareness.
AR medical personnel conducted health checkups, distributed medicines, and advised on hygiene, sanitation, and disease prevention.
The camp served 80 villagers including elderly citizens, women, and children, it added.
