Four held with 4.568 kg of WY tablets

Imphal, July 11 2022: A combined team of Kangpokpi and Gamnom Saparmeina police stations seized 4.568 Kg of World is Yours (WY) tablets and arrested four persons, including two women, from Henjang village along the National Highway 2 on Sunday.

According to police sources, based on specific information about the movement of drug peddlers, the combined team carried out frisking of vehicles and individuals from around 10 am under the overall supervision of SP Kangpokpi.

The team stopped one Maruti Alto car (WB06E-5881) at Motbung but four occupants of vehicle, including the driver, denied possession of any contraband items.

However, due to suspicion, the vehicle was followed and again stopped near Hengjang village along the National Highway-2.On intensive questioning, the driver finally admitted about possession of WY tablets in the vehicle and produced five bundles wrapped in plastic which were found to contain suspected WY tablets weighing 4.568 Kg (approximately).

The seized consignment was consequently seized and sealed in the presence of DSP, Gamnom Saparmeina PS, SDO Saitu and two independent witnesses.

The four occupants of the vehicle were later identified as Satminlun Tuboi (24), son of Thangboi Tuboi of Saikul bazar; Thangkholen Haokip (42), son of Paojathong Haokip of Chikim Veng Moreh, Tengnoupal district; Lhaineineng Haokip (41), wife of Thangkholen Haokip; and Hethem Sitlhou (39) wife of Kamminthang Sitlhou of Motbung in Kangpokpi district.

An FIR under ND&PS Act has been registered for further investigation, added the sources.
