Imphal, June 09 2025: A six-day workshop on preparing Manipuri course materials in Meetei Mayek (MM) organised by North Eastern Regional Language Centre (NERLC), Guwahati has been inaugurated on Monday at Hotel Parahuram, Guwahati, Assam.

The inaugural function was attended by Central Institute of Indian Languages fCIIL), Mysore lecturer cum junior research officer & NERLC officer-in-charge Dr Aleendra Brahma as president, and Manipuri University of Culture (MUC) English Department assistant professor Dr Irom Robindro as chief guest.

During the inauguration, Dr Robindro stressed the need for upgrading the teaching methods of Manipuri language on par with the times.

Others present at the inauguration programme included Dr Aleendra Brahma, NERLC lecturer Dr Salam Brojen, senior lecturer Dr Hi-dam Dolen Singh and special linguist LDCIL, CIIL, Mysore lecturer cum resource person Dr Amom Nandaraj Meetei.

Several delegates such as Dr Wahengbam Saritarani Devi, Dr Sujeta Beishama-yum, Dr Nongmaithem Pritamkumar Singh, Dr Loitongbam Sarankumari Devi, Dr Sapam Sangita Chanu, Dr Laishram Lenin Singh, Dr Thaodem Romen Meitei and Thounaojam Linthoingambi Devi are also attending the workshop.
