Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose remembered

Jagat Guru Sankaracharya in his three-day visit to the State, visited INA Martyrs Memorial Complex, Moirang today and paid tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose remembrance ceremony was organised by KRC Foundation in collaboration with INA Local Advisory Committee, Moirang on the theme "Sambad Sampark Shanti" .
The event held at the INA Martyrs Memorial Complex Hall, Moirang was attended by Shrimad Jagat Guru Sharda Sarvagya Pitham, Maharaj Jagat Guru Shankaracharya Swami Amrit Anand Devtirth, Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha national president, Rajashree Choudhari, Moirang AC MLA.
Thongam Shanti, Vishva Hindu Parishad, secretary general Bajrang Lal Bagra and Shrimad Jagat Guru Sharda Sarvagya Peeth NE, head Bishwadeep Gupta as presidium members.
As part of the event, floral tributes were paid to the statue of legendary Subhash Chandra Bose and later visited Moirang Kangla where the INA flag was first hoisted and also took stock of the INA war museum.
Speaking at the event, Guru Shankar Acharya Swami said that the today's generation must always remember leaders like Subhash Chandra Bose for his significant effort in India's freedom struggle, particularly his efforts to establish the Azad Hind Fauj at the soil of Moirang.
He also stated that he is lucky enough to stand at the historic site of INA Moirang, where the first INA flag was hoisted due to the support of Hindu Mahasabha president Rajshree Choudhari, who is also the great grand-daughter of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
He also called for promotion and preservation of age-old tradition and belief for maintaining a sense of identity and community.
The event was also attended by various hindu religious leaders from across Moirang AC and members of Meitei Leepun.
