Imphal, February 16 2025:
A STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Lab has been inaugurated at Little Millennium in Lamphel by BABINA Hospital senior paediatrician Dr Thangjam Nabachandra on Sunday.
STEAM Lab is a dedicated space designed to integrate and promote hands-on learning across five disciplines.
According to the National Education Policy 2020, the lab aims to encourage children aged 2 to 6 years to explore, experiment, and create, combining critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity.
Speaking to reporters on the occasion, Little Millennium East Zone senior academic manager Shanoli Chakraborty highlighted that while it is often believed that introducing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics at this early stage may be too soon, it is actually crucial for young children to gain exposure to these subjects.
The curriculum has been carefully developed through extensive discussions, with the goal of nurturing critical thinking skills that will benefit the children in their future lives, explained academic manager.
The function was also attended by Little Millennium, Lamphel managing director Sanaita Thangjam along with students, teachers and parents.
