Imphal, June 07 2025: Khurai AC MLA L Susindro has announced that construction of eight houses will begin tomorrow at Khurai Heikrumakhong, following his assurance to rebuild homes destroyed in the recent floods.

Today, the MLA inspected a flood-affected site at Khurai Heikrumakhong, interacting with victims and assuring them that house construction will begin tomorrow.

He urged the flood victims to mark out their land for the construction.

It may be mentioned that Khurai is one of the worst affected Constituencies in the recent devastating floods.

The collapse of the Imphal River's embankment at multiple points caused widespread damage at Khurai Heikrumakhong, with several houses submerged and many swept away.

The Imphal-Pukhao road also collapsed near Ipum Pat at Khurai Heikrumakhong and remains closed till today.

The residential area at Khurai Heikrumakhong, slated for house reconstruction, bears little resemblance to its former self due to extensive damage from the Imphal River's overflow.

Residents are currently living in makeshift shelters made of tarpaulin.

Meanwhile, essential items were distributed to about 2000 families in Khurai Assembly Constituency under the supervision of the MLA .
