Preparations in full swing for vote count

Thoubal, May 28 2024:
Preparations are in
full swing in Thoubal district
for the counting of votes for
the general election to the
18th Lok Sabha, 2024 .
Voters in Thoubal district
have been divided into Inner
and Outer Manipur parliamentary constituencies.
Accordingly, two main separate
counting centres have been
set up in the district headquarters.
Lilong, Thoubal,
and Wangkhem assembly
constituencies fall under
the Inner while voters of
Heirok, Wangjing-Tentha
and Khangabok assembly
constituencies cast vote in
the Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency.
According to Thoubal
DEO/DC Ahanthem Subhash,
the main counting centre
at the DC's Office complex
will have three halls - Hall
No 1 for Thoubal, Heirok &
Wangjing-Tentha ACs, and
Hall No 2 for Khangabok,
Heirok ACs & special polling
stations for Outer (pps)
Electronically Transmitted
Postal Ballot System (ETBPS)
would be counted at Barrack
Hall No 3 .
A secondary counting
centre set up at the office of
Thoubal BDO will be used for
counting of votes for Lilong
AC and special polling stations of Outer (IDPs) .
Adequate security measures with three-tier system
have been arranged for the
counting day with both central and state security forces
to be deployed.
Except for officials and authorised counting agents, no one would be allowed access without special entry permit.
