Delhi CM interacts with NIT team

Imphal, February 22 2013:
The fifteen days National Integration Tour to Delhi and Agra which is being organized by 35 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S) met several dignitaries in the national capital including Delhi Chief Minister Mrs Sheila Dixit.
The group of students from the Christ King School and St Mary's School located in Sajik Valley, one of the remotest parts of Manipur, got an opportunity to meet Sheila Dixit who had invited the students at her residence for tea on February 21 and interacted with them.
At the end of the meeting the students also presented the Chief Minister with a wooden craft Pafal of Ibudhou Pakhangba.
Earlier, the students met former Union Minister Oscar Fernandes on Feb 20 at Akbar Road, New Delhi.
The former Union Minister had a long interactive session with the students wherein patriotic and traditional songs from Sajik Valley were sung.
On the same day, they also got an opportunity to meet Home Secy R K Singh at the Ministry of Home Affairs, North Block.
The Home Secy took keen interest in gaining knowledge about the remote places of Manipur and advised the students to strive harder in their future academic endeavours.
In the next few days the students will also get chance to visit various other historical places in Delhi and Agra including the famous Red Fort, Taj Mahal Qutub Minar and Fatehpur Sikri.
The students are thrilled to be in Delhi and visiting modern attraction like malls and Delhi Metro, apart from places of tourist or historical interest.
