MSPDCL issues guidelines, power outage notified

In view of the anticipated flood situation in Manipur, Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) has earnestly appealed to all residents to remain vigilant and take all necessary precautions to ensure their safety with regard to electricity.
In a release, MSPDCL executive director (tech) M Rabi Singh stated that as floods pose significant risks to electrical infrastructure and personal safety, it emphasises precautions such as staying informed by keeping updates from MSPDCL regarding electricity supply and safety advisories and avoid flooded areas, particularly those near electrical installations such as substations, transformers, and power lines.
The executive director urged the-public to promptly report any damages to electrical equipment or infrastructure by contacting MSPDCL at 7640081232 or 7640081238 and to avoid touching or attempting to repair damaged electrical components themselves.
In case of flooding in their premises, Rabi Singh advised consumers to disconnect the main power supply and refrain from using electrical appliances until the area is declared safe by competent authorities.
He also reminded the public to adhere to instructions provided by MSPDCL, personnel or local authorities regarding power restoration and safety protocols.
Meanwhile, Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) has informed all concerned that power supply will be disrupted in areas served by the 33/11 kV Ibudhou Marjing Substation which is currently experiencing an outage due to submersion of the double circuit line supplying power to the substation at Mongjam area.
In a release, MSPCL manager (TSD-VI, TD-II) Mex Kumar B informed that as long as the water level remains above the safe limit, power supply to consumers connected to the 33/11 kV Ibudhou Marjing Substation will continue to be affected, expressing deep regret for the inconvenience caused to the general public.
