Conclave for Agripreneurs of NE held

Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal organised a one-day conclave on 'Agri Vision for Agripreneurs of NE India' at the varsity premises in Lamphelpat, here, on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, vice chancellor Anupam Mishra informed that CAU has been taking up various initiatives to strengthen the Farmers' Producer Organisation (FPO) movement in the NE region, where around 60 FPOs are successfully operational, excluding Assam.
Regarding the conclave, he said that it was meant to form a linkage system between students, FPOs, start-ups, entrepreneurs and farmers, to jointly benefit producers, innovators, researchers and investors.
The vice chancellor also expressed hope that the initiatives of CAU would help foster a positive and economic environment, thereby helping the stakeholders in the region.
As such, Dr Mishra urged the farming community to avail the benefit of the platform provided by CAU.
In all, 20 exhibitors set up stalls at the conclave while a book, titled 'Reassessment of Micro & Secondary Nutrients & Management Strategies in Manipur' was released as a part of the event.
DRI, New Delhi secretary Atul Jain; IARI New Delhi senior scientist (Horticulture) Dr Amit Goswami; DKB Enterprises Guwahati director Sanjeeb Bordoloi; and Guwahati agri entrepreneur Mohit Sarma also attended the conclave.
