Human chain, sit-in protest abduction, demand release

Imphal, November 15 2024:
Various organisations and students, on Friday, carried out protest demonstration to denounce abduction of six civilians, including three children, and demand their safe release.
Under the aegis of COCOMI Students' Front, students of Leirik Institute of Nursing, Ghari, and RDO Nursing College, Lamdeng, formed of human chain in front of their respective institutes, demanding safe release of the six civilians held hostage by Kuki militants.
They demanded central and state governments to make all-out efforts to secure safe release of the captives, while terming the abduction as inhumane.
Mayang Imphal Bengoon Dukan Committee also downed shutters for the day and organised a sit-in protest at Mayang Imphal Bengoon Keithel decrying the abduction of the six civilians.
The protesters likened the abduction to act of terror, and urged for their safe release.
In Bishnupur district, students and teachers of Mahei Leikol Kids Foundation also formed human chain along Tiddim Road, demanding unconditional release of the abducted civilians.
All Manipur Muslim Development Committee and All Kwakta Youths' Voluntary Organisation also demanded safe release of the abducted civilians and urged the government to resolve the crisis at the earliest.
