Imphal, November 16 2024:
Several CSOs including FOCS, MWF, MKNM, Manipur People's Front, MPCM, KUCMA Mayang Imphal, Khuman Chanu Mayang Imphal, UMPC, YEMKAL, MPDF, LEVYM, BYPA and the World Meetei Organization have asked all the 50 MLAs of Manipur barring the 10 Kuki-Zo-Hmar MLAs to state their positions regarding the unfolding situation in the State.
The CSOs held an emergency meeting today.
Briefing media persons after the meeting at the office of FOCS at Kakwa Boroimakhong, FOCS president Th Manihar said that the 10 Kuki-Zo-Hmar MLAs, Kuki militant groups, ITLF and COTU who have been taking leading roles in the ongoing war of genocide against Meiteis and to break apart Manipur must be declared as terrorists and terrorist organisations by the Government of India, the State Government and authorities concerned.
The emergency meeting adopted a resolution to this effect, he said.
The meeting further resolved that the 50 MLAs must declare their positions to the public on the Manipur crisis within 24 hours.
Illegal Chin-Kuki-Zo immigrants who have been carrying on a campaign of genocide against innocent people must be deported from Manipur by way of implementing the National Register of Citizens (NRC) immediately.
The Government of India must arrest and punish as per law all the Chin-Kuki-Zo militants involved in the cold blooded murder of six women and children after they were abducted from Jakuradhor under Borobekra sub-division of Jiribam district, Manihar said citing another resolution adopted at the emergency meeting.
People were hoping that the Government of India would rescue the three women and the three children held hostage by Kuki-Zo militants.
Even after knowing that the hostages were being kept at a SoO camp, the Government of India could not rescue the innocent hostages.
This disappointing failure of the Government of India evokes a serious question whether it has any intention to annihilate the Meitei community, he said.
Stating that the Government of India and the State Government must be held accountable for the ongoing war and all its consequences, the FOCS president asserted that all the Hmar people presently living in Borobekra sub-division of Jiribam district must be driven out of Manipur.
He then called upon all the organisations to set aside all differences and come together to protect the motherland.
