Janjatiya Gaurav Divas observed across state

In commemoration of 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Senapati district administration organised the 4th Janjatiya Gaurav Divas at the Senapati DC Complex Memorial Hall on Friday.
The programme was attended by power minister Th Biswajit Singh and education minister Th Basanta Singh as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
During the event, the oldest headmen of respective tribes of the district were felicitated along with outstanding tribal achievers in the field of sports and education.
Inter-tribe cultural songs and dances of Mao, Thangal, Zeliangrong and Poumai Naga tribes were showcased as part of the event.
Additionally, welfare schemes/projects such as Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojna, knapsack sprayer, Farmer Registration Card, Ayushman Bharat card, PMAY- G 1st Instalment and Assisted living devices were distributed to the eligible beneficiaries.
As part of the programme, 32 stalls were opened under various departments including SHGs Van Dhan Vikas Kendra and SHGs under Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission for awareness and saturation of schemes and Showcasing the local handicraft items.
A health camp for the screening of anaemia was also facilitated.
Chandel district administration also observed Janjatiya Gaurav Divas - 2024 at the Chandel DC complex multipurpose hall, during which additional DC Md Firoz Khan said that the Dharty Aabas Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan is a scheme to be implemented under the ministry of tribal affairs in underdeveloped tribal areas of the country.
The function was also attended by Khengjoi SDO, Chandel CMO, MSRLM manager and Chandel district agriculture officer.
Meanwhile, Noney district administration organised the District Level Janjatiya Gaurav Divas-2024 at Multipurpose Hall, Longmai Part-3 in the presence of Noney DC Dr Sharath Chandra Arroju, SP Namsadai Peter Pamei, ADM Christian Home, Haochong SDO and other district level officers.
As a part of the Diwas, broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and launch/ foundation stone laying and inauguration of various schemes worth Rs 6000 crore was viewed by the audiences.
Cultural activities were also performed by various dance troupes apart from distribution of disabled cards by the District Social Welfare department.
Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) campaign was also launched in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, a celebrated tribal freedom fighter.
The campaign aims to highlight the contributions of tribal communities to India's freedom struggle and promote their socio-economic development.
In Ukhrul, deputy Commissioner Zuringla Ken-goo officially launched the campaign at the DRDA Hall, Mini-Secretariat, after participating in a virtual broadcast from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who inaugurated the initiative nationwide from Jamui district, Bihar.
Kengoo urged all departments to collaborate and work diligently to ensure the campaign's success.
The event saw participation from various district officials and departments.
Running until November 26, the DAJGUA campaign will focus on showcasing tribal art, culture, heritage, and history, while also addressing critical gaps in social infrastructure, health, education, and livelihood development across tribal villages.
Kamjong district administration also observed 'Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas' with DC Rangnamei Rang Peter launching the campaign.
The observance function took place at the Deputy Commissioner's camp office in 2nd MR Complex, Imphal, where Rang Peter spoke about the legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and the contributions of other tribal freedom fighters, such as Rani Gaidinliu and Haipou Jadonang.
Rang Peter further elaborated on the DAJGUA campaign, detailing its ambitious plan.with an outlay of over Rs 79,156 crore aimed at benefiting approximately 63,843 tribal villages across 549 districts in 30 states and Union Territories.
He highlighted that 27 villages in Kamjong, district have been selected for the saturation of government flagship programs, calling on all line departments to support this initiative.
During the celebration, ID cards were distributed to beneficiaries under various schemes, including the PM Van Dhan Vikas Kendra, CMHT Scheme, Old Age Pension Scheme, CM Widow Pension Scheme, PM KISAN, and PMJAY.
Additionally, sports materials were provided to selected students in the district.
The event was attended by various officials, including the additional superintendent of police of Kamjong, Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs), District Level Officers (DLOs), and staff from the district administration.
