AMGSU extends Cheiraoba and Gorkhali New Year greetings

Kanglatongbi, April 13 2026: The All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) has extended its warm greetings to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Cheiraoba, the traditional New Year of the State, along with best wishes for Gorkhali Nav Barsha 2083 Bikram Samvat.

In a statement, the student body described Cheiraoba as a time of new beginnings, reflection, and togetherness, highlighting its significance in strengthening familial bonds and community ties.

It noted that the festival serves as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage, values, and traditions of the people of Manipur.

The union also conveyed greetings on the occasion of the Gorkhali New Year, expressing hope that it would inspire fresh aspirations, renewed energy, and a positive outlook for the future.

Calling for unity and harmony, AMGSU urged people to leave behind past challenges and step into the New Year with hope, determination, and a collective spirit.

It further emphasised the importance of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence among all communities.

On the occasion, AMGSU wished for peace, prosperity, good health, and happiness for all, and appealed to the people to work together for the progress and overall wellbeing of Manipur.
