Imphal, April 13 2025:
Rajya Sabha MP and titular King of Manipur, Leishemba Sanajaoba, on Sunday stated that Arambai Tenggol, an organisation originally formed to protect the Meetei community and its religion, has now returned to its cultural and traditional roots.
However, he cautioned that the group would resume its earlier role if Manipur and its people face any threat.
Sanajaoba made the remarks while addressing the valedictory function of the Arambai Tenggol football knockout tournament, held at Lamboi Khongnangkhong football ground in the present of AT leader Korounganba Khuman, advisors, unit commanders and local elders.

Reflecting on his 30 years of public service, MP Sanajaoba said that earlier leaders often claimed that no solution was possible for Manipur given the challenges it faced.
Contrary to that belief, he asserted that solutions do exist, but they can only be achieved by nurturing a generation that is nationalist, courageous, and deeply committed to their community.
He lauded Arambai Tenggol, stating that its actions today stand as a testament to that belief and are a matter of pride.
Sanajaoba further clarified that Arambai Tenggol was never formed against any individual, nor is it an anti-national organisation.
He explained that while the group had assumed a different form during a critical period to protect the Meetei community and Manipur, it has now reverted to its foundational identity, engaging in religious practices, farming and sports.
Nevertheless, he said that Arambai Tenggol should not be mistaken for a passive or inactive group.
"If any threat arises against Manipur and its people, the organisation will not hesitate to return to its former role," he warned.
The final match of the tournament was played between Arambai Tenggol Unit 3 and 5 .
