Imphal, May 04 2024:
Pointing out that RIMS road, an important road connecting Nagamapal with RIMS hospital, is in dire conditions making inconveniences to the people travelling along the road, Senior Citizens Club has urged state government to blacktop the road and install street lamps.
In a release, Senior Citizens Club vice president K Tarunkumar stated that RIMS road, Lalambung Makhong is in deteriorating conditions where people even fear to travel on the road.
The one kilometer stretch is between the adjoining areas of Thang-meiband and Uripok assembly constituencies, he continued.
It is unfortunate that the road has been dug out time and again by sewage project and public health engineering, and failed to repair it properly leading to road accidents.
The road is filled with dust during dry season and dirt in rainy season, he contended, while adding that lack of street lights caused problems to the people who came to RIMS in emergency.
Urging the state government to blacktop the road and install street lamps, Tarunkumar urged electricity, public health and PWD departments to coordinate while taking up any initiatives.
