Joykisan to resign today, other MLAs likely as well

Expressing his dissatisfaction with the government over its inaction with regard to the abduction and subsequent killing of three of the six civilians held hostage by armed Kukis, and also regret on being unable to act on the sentiments of the people; Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykisan would be submitting his resignation to Manipur Legislative Assembly On Sunday around 1pm According to a source, Joykisan is presently not in the state but would be returning to the state on Sunday morning.
After meeting with his constituents, he would be visiting the Manipur Legislative Assembly at around 1pm to submit his resignation.
On the other hand, some of the other ruling MLAs are also reportedly discussing plans to submit their resignations as well.
On condition of anonymity, one of the MLAs said that some of the ruling MLAs will be taking the decision to resign from their posts since they have failed to protect and save the lives of innocent women and children.
There is no longer any meaning to being an MLA if they cannot put an end to the violence, which has been raging on for more than a year and a half The MLA further said that the 19 MLAs who made a written request to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resolve the violence, along with other MLAs who were not the among the signatories, may join in the decision to resign from their posts.
