Pambei-led UNLF mourns

The Pambei-led UNLF and its armed wing MPA has mourned the demise of Private Tongbram Kallakchei alias Kemi in a tragic accident that took place on April 12, 2025 .
According to a press release issued by the outfit's Department of Publicity and Education Director Charairongba Thokchom, Kallakchei alias Kemi, together with some other revolutionary cadres, was delivering water in a 407 truck to fellow revolutionary fighters who were defending a base camp of the MPA's 1st Brigade, 292 Battalion at around 2.30 pm yesterday.
However, as the truck made its way on the inclined hilly road, its engine suddenly went dead.
As a result, the truck rolled down the hilly road and finally turned upside down.
Kallakchei alias Kemi sustained critical injuries in the accident.
Even as he was rushed to a public hospital, he succumbed to the injuries on the way.
Private Kemi was the only son born to Tongbram Naba and Sunita of Khabam Bamdiar Mamang Leikai, Imphal West.
He was born on December 16, 1992 and had two elder sisters and two younger sisters.
Leaving behind his beloved parents and sisters, he joined UNLF and completed BMT in the MPA's 55th batch.
On completion of training, Private Kemi was posted with different mobile task forces of MPA.
Later, he was posted at the 292 Battalion.
Kemi was a patriotic, honest, sincere, well-disciplined, persevering, hard-working and valiant freedom fighter who had the spirit to make the supreme sacrifice for independence of Manipur, the outfit said.
The outfit has also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
It further prayed that the mortal remains of the freedom fighter may rest in peace on the soil of the motherland.
