Imphal River still flows above danger level

Imphal, May 31 2025:
Even after some sections of its embankments have breached at some places and its water level has receded a little, Imphal River still flows above danger level.
The water levels of all major rivers viz; Iril, Kongba, Nambul, Nambol and Thoubal have been rising steadily.
The water level of Iril River reached 786.50 m at its Irilbung bridge gauge site at 8 pm today.
This level is close to the warning level.
The water level was 785.30 m at 2 pm .
The water level of Nambul River at Thong Nambonbi rose from 782.275 m at 2 pm to 782.400 m at 8 pm .
The flood level of Nambul River is 782.175 m .
The water level of Thoubal River rose from 775.100 m at 2 pm to 775.225 m at 8 pm.
Though the water level of Thoubal River has not yet reached warning level, the water level has been rising steadily.
With all major rivers in spate, four out of the five gates of Ithai Barrage have been opened.
The Imphal Barrage has also opened four of its gates out of the total five gates.
While other gates are still closed, one gate of Thoubal Barrage has been opened.
