Imphal, July 11 2015 :
The North East Students' Organisation (NESO) has strongly condemned the killing of a student and injuring others who were staging democratic agitation by the security forces.
In a statement, secretary general of NESO, Sinam Prakash Singh said that people of all the North Eastern States, threatened by the influx of migrants, have been demanding implementation of Inner Line Permit System in their respective States.
The Manipur Government instead of lestening to the demand and grievances of the people took recourse to repressive measures to sup- press the movement, NESO alleged.
Apart from killing Sapam Robinhood, a student of Ananda Singh Hr Sec Academy, the Govt has put the people at a perilous position by imposing curfew instead of making any sincere attempt to solve the issue, it said.
Condoling the demise of Robinhood, NESO also demanded fitting action against the police personnel involved in the killing.
The Govt should solve the problem considering the sentiments of the people, it de- manded while adding that the movement would not be suppressed at any cost.
