Imphal, July 11 2015 :
The MRVTMW Bill, 2015 put up by the Congress led Government was rejected by the Governor a day before the Assembly began.
Timely notification of this rejection to the House and the people could have saved Robinhood's life, BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary M Ashinikumar asserted.
Speaking to media persons today, Ashinikumar alleged that the Congress-led State Government submitted the MRVTMW Bill, 2015 overlooking the recommendations made by members of the All Political Parties.
The Bill was however rejected a day before the commencement of the Assembly session.
Had the House and the people been informed that the MRVTMW Bill, 2015 has been returned, the death of the student could have been prevented, Ashinikumar asserted.
The imposition of indefinite curfew and the closure order of academic institutions would do little to curb the present issue.
He appealed to the State Government to reopen educational institutions and further prevent any form of disturbances to the same.
The Government is only buying time driven by a belief that the ongoing agitation would die out after some time.
If the State Government adopts a concrete decision on the issue and forward the same to the Government of India, BJP Manipur Pradesh would also extend possible assistance.
