Republic Day 2024 celebrated in districts

Imphal, January 27 2024: NONEY: Noney district celebrated the 75th Republic Day at Longmai Common ground, Noney district headquarters on Friday.

Chief guest of the celebratory function Deputy commissioner (DC) Noney Joseph Pauline Kamson unfurled the National Flag and took the 'Rastriya Salute' as the National Anthem was played.

SP Noney N Madhunimai was also present at the event.

Parade commander additional SP Namsadai Peter led the march-past participated by 20 contingents including a band party from the 107 BN (Territorial Army) and a male police contingent.

Various dance troupes and artists presented cultural dances and other variety shows.

At the occasion, 52 selected government employees and individuals received appreciation certificates.

The district administration also distributed red-blankets to senior citizens.

The audience received a copy of 'Manipur Today', a book published by DIPR.

Sharon English High School's girls' contingent secured the.

first position in the match-past competition, while the boys' contingent of Tentmakers' Academy received the second prize.

On the other hand, the first prize for gate construction went to Forest Department and the second prize to ZEO, Noney.

The event was attended DLOs, police and military officers, CSOs leaders, students and general public.

SENAPATI: The district administration of Senapati celebrated the 75th Indian Republic Day at Sanyi Dahrii Sports Complex, Khabung Karong.

17 contingents participated in the march-past and DC Senapati Mamoni Doley unfurled the National Flag.

The march-past was led by additional SP (NH) ML Kaisungbou, as the parade commander.

JIRIBAM: Jiribam district celebrated 75th Republic Day at Jiribam Higher Secondary School playground.

DC Jiribam Krishna Kumar inspected the guard of honour and unfurled the Tricolour.

A combined band party of the fire service and police departments of the district played the National Anthem.

The DC took salute from the six march-past contingents led by parade commander SDPO Jiribam T Inaobi Singh.

The contingents included 87th Bn CRPF, 7th IRB, civil police, ASHA health workers, Jiribam Municipal Council and Fire Service.

The event was attended by DLOs, government officials, and the public.

Cash rewards were given to the event's participants.

SP Jiribam SA Ghanashyam Sharma, CO 87th Bn CRPF, CO 7th IRB, additional SP Jiribam, SDO Jiribam and other DLOs and government officials of the district and public participated in the celebration.

CHURACHANDPUR: District administration Churachandpur celebrated the 75th Republic Day at Peace Ground, Tuibong on Friday with deputy commissioner Churachandpur Dharun Kumar S unfurling the National Flag and taking the salute as the chief guest from march past contingents comprising BSF, civil police, NCC cadets, school students and inmates of several relief camps.

Other highlights of the programme included distribution of commendations to 113 government officials and staff, 71 police/security forces for their excellence in public service and four NGOs/organisations in recognition of their contribution towards the district administration and societies.

Awards and trophies were also presented to the winners and runners-up of Republic Day Relief Camps (IDP) Sports Meet, 2024 held from January 22 to 25 .

Showcasing of cultural items by students of JNV, Kendriya Vidyalaya, rendering of patriotic songs by Muan Hangzo and Bamboo Dance from Hmar Youth Association (HYA) were other highlights of the event.

BISHNUPUR: District level celebration of 75th Republic Day was organised by district administration, Bishnupur at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur on Friday.

As part of the celebration, DC Bishnupur Lourembam Bikram unfurled the National Tricolour and received the salute for parade commander Abhinav.

Certificates of honour and participation were distributed to staff and officials of various departments of the district at the function.

The celebration was also attended by SP Bishnupur K Meghachandra Singh, division forest officer Waikhom Ram-abai, ADM Hanjabam Bobby Sharma, officers and staff of district administration and district level officers of various departments and others.

KANGPOKPI: The 75th Republic Day, 2024 celebration was also held in Kangpokpi district on Friday with the main function organised by the district administration at the DC's Office Complex.

DC Kangpokpi Mahesh Chaudhari unfurled the National Flag and took salute from the eight march past contingents led by parade commander SL Kamkhohao.

As part of the function, 91 government officials were given appreciation certificates.

Also, an exhibition was held where inmates of different relief centres set up in four sub-divisions of the district namely Saitu Gamphazol, Saikul, Champhai and Kangpokpi opened stalls displaying products made by them.

EVMs were also displayed by an election team.

Cultural items were other highlights of the function.

TENGNOUPAL: District administration Tengnoupal celebrated the 75th Independence Day at DC Office Complex on Friday with DC Tengnoupal Krishna Kumar attending as chief guest.

Contingents of Police Department, Assam Rifles band, BSF, Tengnoupal Government High School and St Peter's School took part in the march past parade.

Cultural dances were also presented as a part of the celebration.

Staff and officers of different department were awarded certificates of appreciation during the programme.

PHERZAWL: District administration of Pherzawl celebrated the 75th Republic Day at Pherzawl district headquarters on Friday.

DC Pherzawl Asish Das unfurled the Tricolour and took salute from the march past parade contingents commanded by SDPO Pherzawl Golamthang Hatzaw.

Distribution of appreciation certificates to 16 outstanding government employees and cultural dance performance by Pherzawl HYA were the main highlights of the function.

SP Pherzawl T Lalboi Ha-okip, ADC Pherzawl Zosanglur Joute, additional SP Pherzawl Lunzamung Tungnung, district officials and staff, CSOs, students and villagers attended the function.

KAKCHING: District administration, Kakching on Friday celebrated the 75th Republic Day at DC Office Complex, Kakching.

The celebration began with DC Kakching Somorjit Salam inspecting the parade and then unfurling the National Flag.

The DC took salute from the contingents including -civil police, VDF and traffic police commanded by SDPO Kakching Ak Premjit Singh.

During the programme which was also attended by SP Kakching Thokchom Vikramjit and top officials of district level departments and police, appreciation certificates were presented to 177 police, VDF, Fire Service, Forest and other department personnel/employees.

CHANDEL: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated by district administration, Chandel at Maha Union Higher Secondary School ground, Japhou on Friday.

The celebration started with the inspection of guard of honour and unfurling of the National Tricolour by the chief guest, DC Chandel Mayanglambam Rajkumar.

Altogether 22 contingents, comprising police, NCC, school students, line departments like ICDS, Anganwadi workers etc., participated in the march past parade.

And as part of the celebration, road safety demonstrations were also shown by Traffic Control, District Transport Department.

Different village chiefs were honoured with red blankets and officers, staff and security personnel of various departments were given cash awards and meritorious certificate for their devotion and outstanding performance in discharging their duties.

For the first time, employees of the district who had or are retiring from service in the coming months were honoured for their dedication in government service.

The programme was also attended by the SP Chandel Hemant Pandey, ADC Chandel Md Firoj Khan, 21 Assam Rifles major Chirak, additional SP, SDOs, DLOs, officials, staffs, village chiefs and a large number of general public.

UKHRUL: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated on Friday with great enthusiasm and patriotism at Bakshi Ground, Ukhrul.

The event was attended by DC Ukhrul Zuringla Kengoo, who unfurled the National Flag, amidst the singing of National Anthem.

She also inspected the march past parade in the presence of SP Ukhrul Ningsem Vashum and parade commander additional SP Ringthing Hongchui.

A total of 28 contingents participated in the march past and seven cultural performances were presented.

These included Ngainga Cultural Dance Troupe, Ukhrul District Karate Kid, Assam Rifles Public School, Hungpung Kok Thang Ta Academy, Model High School.Halang Baptist Church Mission Sch6ol and Pam's KinderGarden.

During the celebration, appreciation certificates were awarded to 125 employees from various departments for their outstanding services throughout the previous year.

The march past competition was won by Savio High School Girls', contingent, followed by Ukhrul Public School Girls' contingent in second place and Little Angel's English School Girls' contingent in third place.
