ITLF objects scraping of FMR

Perturbed by the January 24 meeting at Kangla Fort wherein several Meitei ministers and MLAs took oath, the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) on Saturday held its fifth public consultation and adopted nine declarations which are related to its future course of action.
According to the declaration signed by moderators Letpu Haokip and Thangzamang, ITLF stated that for their future political way forward, the Mizoram government should be approached.
It stated that they cannot be under the government who killed and destroyed their churches and properties, while separating the people physically and demographically, and also who took oath under a militia group.
If said that Centre should directly administer the people from Delhi.
It also raised objection to the move of scrapping FMR and border fencing, while calling for continuing any form of agitations and actions, if and when the need arises.
It further called on the Kuki-Zo people to support and cooperate with any plans, projects and policies made by ITLF to strengthen its movement.
The ITLF also declared that SoO groups should not sign any agreement for the integrity of Manipur and instead, stand firm with the demand for UT with legislature, For any future political movement, meeting with SoO groups and Kuki-ZO MLAs should be held with the initiative of Zo-United as soon as possible.
The MHA should be questioned on the status of political demand through joint signatures of SoO, MLAs and CSOs, another point of the declaration said.
It further declared that Kuki-Zo MLAs cannot be part of the state government.
They should work according to the wishes of the people and counter the Biren-government in favour of Kuki-Zo people, and should resign, if the need arises.
