MMDO delegation calls on Governor

Imphal, November 12 2025: A delegation of the Manipuri Muslim (Pangal) Development Organisation (MMDO), Assam, led by its president Md Abdul Nur Choudhury, called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan, Imphal today.

As per a release issued by PRO Raj Bhavan, the delegation, comprising five members, submitted a memorandum raising the issue of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) requirement for Manipuris, especially Manipuri Muslims residing in Assam and Tripura, while entering Manipur.

They also highlighted that the community shares deep historical, cultural, and ancestral ties with Manipur and urged that they be treated as part of the same social and ethnic lineage.

The Governor gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them to look into the matter.
