Parts of Wangkhei AC still inundated

Imphal, June 08 2025: Although the flood waters have receded from almost all the affected areas, parts of Wangkhei AC namely Nongmeibung, Wangkhei Angom Leikai and surrounding areas under Ward no.21 continue to remain inundated.

According to reports, the water was supposed to drain out to Kongba Basin Takhelk-hong Maril, also known as Kongba River, at the southern side of Kongpal Mutum Leikai.

However, the outlet of the main drain has been blocked by the ongoing works on the sewage pumping station being taken up by Keystone Infra Private Limited.

As such, the areas continue to remain inundated.

Furthermore, the people nearby are encroaching on the drain course, passing through Wangkhei Ayangpalli, thereby blocking flow of the flood waters.

Thus, the locals urged authorities concerned to look into the issue and take up necessary action at the earliest to mitigate sufferings of all those affected by the flood.
