MSF calls for safeguard of territorial integrity

Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has called upon the people to unite and uphold the territorial integrity of Manipur which has been kept intact by our forefathers.
While extending New Year's wish to the people of Manipur, MSF president Hijam Roshan expressed sadness that the humanitarian in the state since May 2023 left many dead and injured and thousands others displaced.
Informing that MSF since its inception on October 13, 1998 has been relentlessly working for a welfare state, Roshan said that the organisation launched "Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tanashi" campaign with the primary objective of strengthening the education system and to make the student community aware about the history, territorial issues and the governance of the state.
As a part of the campaign, stationary items and other materials required by the students were distributed along with organising competitions based on nationalism and patriotism of Manipur, the president stated that it has been organising coaching camps with fee subsidised for students of class X and XII considering the BOSEM and COHSEM examination and to help them to qualify in the admission test at the University level.
As part of this initiative, MSF has organised free coaching camps for students of class X and XII who will be appearing in the examination conducted by BOSEM and COHSEM in Thoubal, Kakching, Bishnupur, Imphal West and Imphal East districts.
State Level Open Essay Writing Competition on the topic "Suspension of Operation (SoO) Agreement: The Root Cause behind the Violence in Manipur" was also conducted for the said districts, the results of which will be declared in the first week of January 2024 .
He also recounted that MSF launched "Eikhoi Mayai Kaba Drug Thadoklashi" to save the youth of Manipur from drugs, as a part of which Seminars, discussions, interaction sessions and poster/sticker campaign were conducted.
In addition, MSF also conducted awareness programmes on saving the environment.
Expressing hope that the state government would take up initiatives to regain reputation of government educational institutions in the state in the coming year 2024, MSF urged the government to fill up the vacant post of teachers in government institutions.
It also appealed to the public to unite and solve the issues of drugs, illegal immigrants, boundary, human rights and environment and save the territorial integrity of Manipur.
