Governor Anusuiya Uikey, Chief Minister N Biren Singh and others have greeted the people on New Year 2024 .
In a message to the people, Governor Anusuiya Uikey said, "New Year's Day is for making new resolutions.
As we enter 2024, let us all resolve to work together for creating harmony and perfect peace in all parts of Manipur during the coming year" .
"Unfortunately, Manipur has been passing through a difficult situation for the last more than seven months due to unprecedented ethnic clash that broke out on May 3, 2023 .
Let us all try to resolve this issue collectively to bring normalcy to maintain our age-old tradition of peaceful coexisten- ce", said Anusuiya Uikey.
Welcoming the New Year and wishing the people, Chief Minister N Biren urged all to come together to overcome the barriers and stumbling blocks for a better Manipur, where all people live together pea-cefully, harmoniously and get access to facilities of a developed State.
The unprecedented conflict has directly or indirectly affected everyone residing in the State.
It has disrupted the fabric of peaceful coexistence among different communities.
"As the year 2023 ends, let's forget and forgive the trauma of the past and start the New year 2024 in an atmosphere of love and compassion," said the Chief Minister.
Power Minister Th Biswajit Singh and Wangoi AC MLA Kh Loken too wished the people on New Year and prayed for peace to return in Manipur.
Makaam Foundation, Imphal and Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) also greeted the people and wished for New Year 2024 to bring peace.
