Awareness programme held

In connection with the observation of Thang-Ta Day, the Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) organised an awareness cum demonstration programme at Malemnganba Kindergarten School, Andro Kharam Leikai.
As per a release issued by KIMACS, the programme was attended by Salam Ibomcha Meetie, founder principal, Malemnganba Kindergarten School; Irom Ibomcha Mangang, chairman, Thang-Ta Day Observation Committee; and Brachmacharimayum Bilki Sharma, vice president, KIMACS as presidium members.
At the event, speakers dwelt on the significance of Thang-Ta, an indigenous martial art form deeply rooted in the Meitei culture and historically used to protect the Kingdom and its people from foreign invaders.
They also elaborated on the multiple benefits of practicing Thang-Ta regularly and added that practicing Thang-Ta not only leads to a healthy lifestyle but also helps in instilling discipline.
