Noney, June 09 2025: The observance of World Hyper Tension Day, coupled with the launch of a month long hypertension screening initiative under the theme "Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer," was held on Monday at the Noney PHC .

The event, organised by the District Health Society, Noney, was attended by Noney chief medical officer Dr Azin Maringmei as the chief guest, and district immunisation officer Dr Jendum Golmei as the functional president while, NP-NCD, Noney district nodal officer Dr Dei Gratia Lamlee Kamei and khoupum PHC medical officer in-charge Dr Solomon Kamei were the guests of honour.

Speaking at the event, Dr Azin Maringmei urged all medical personnel in Noney district to maintain unity and mutual understanding.

He encouraged healthcare professionals to uphold the dignity of labour, serve the community with compassion and care, and adhere to high standards of professional ethics.

The programme was also participated by doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, ASHAs, and ASHA facilitators.

As part of the event, health awareness talks were conducted alongside blood investigations and hypertension screening led by medical experts.

Additionally, a screening for non-communicable diseases was carried out by healthcare workers at Longmai Bazar, Noney.

In a gesture of goodwill, Dr Azin Maringmei donated a computer printer to Noney PHC in loving memory of his parents, to support official administrative work.

Simultaneously, the observance of World No Tobacco Day was also held at the same venue under the theme "Unmasking the Appeal: Exposing Industry Tactics on Tobacco and Nicotine Products" .
