143 Bn CRPF marks Valour Day with tribute to 1965 heroes

Imphal, April 09 2026:
The 143rd Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), stationed at Lamphelpat, commemorated its annual Valour Day today to honor the gallant actions of the 2nd Bn CRPF personnel during the 1965 conflict at Sardar & Tak Posts in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.
The occasion featured a homage ceremony where Omnath Chattaraj, 2 I/C, Commandant-143 Bn (CCD), paid respects to the martyrs and addressed the officers and men, emphasizing the day's historical significance.
A solemn 'Sankalp' (Pledge) was also administered to all ranks present.
Also, as part of the CRPF's community service initiatives, a blood donation camp was organised at the Unit Hospital, coordinated and supervised by a medical team from RIMS, Imphal.
A total of 30 personnel from the unit voluntarily donated blood.
The day's events concluded with an intercompany football match, followed by a traditional 'Barakhana' held at all the unit's messes in the evening.
