PMEGP delay in Ukhrul flayed

Ukhrul District PMEGP Beneficiaries Association has lamented that despite the order issued by the implementing agencies i.e.Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Khadi& Village Industries Board (KVIB) and District Industries Centre (DIC) for immediate implementation of Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) for the year 2013-14, the banks in Ukhrul district are remaining inactive.
In a statement, Association Convenor Ramyo Shimray informed that till date no financial sanctions have been made by the banks in Ukhrul.
The beneficiaries have approached the concerned banks so many times but they remain unheeding to the request.
This protracted delay by the district authority including the concerned banks has greatly affected the poor beneficiaries who are at the receiving ends.
Ramyo further informed that in a meeting of all beneficiaries held at TTA Conference Hall, Hamleikhong, Ukhrul on Wednesday, it was resolved to press the district authority including the concerned banks in Ukhrul to immediately implement the PMEGP scheme without delay.
It was also resolved that in the event of undue delay, the Association will be compelled to resort to various form of agitations.
