Awareness programme on "Silkworm Rearing Techniques" held at Wangoo Terakhong

Bishnupur, July 29 2025: As part of nationwide Sericulture Technology Transfer Campaign of Mera Resham Abhimaan, an awareness programme on "Silkworm Rearing Techniques" was successfully organised at Wangoo Terakhong today.

The event was jointly organised by the Central Silk Board Regional Sericulture Research Station, Imphal in under Ministry of Textile, Govt of India in collaboration with Wangoo Terakhong Gram Panchayat Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited.

The programme aimed to educate local farmers and weavers on modem sericulture practices to enhance productivity and livelihood opportunities.

The event was attended by Central Silk Board Regional Sericulture Research Station Imphal, Head of Scientist Dr S Subharani Devi; Scientist D Dr Khwairakpam Subadas Singh: Assistant Director Sericulture Bishnupur, K Tahenleima; DSO Bishnupur FO, N Galicier; and Wangoo Terakhong Gram Panchayat Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd, chairman Loitongbam Gopen as key speakers and presidium members.
