Kakching, July 27 2023: The 3rd anniversary celebration of National Education Policy (NEP) - 2020 was held today at the Administrative Block of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Sandumba Achouba in Kakching District.

The programme was graced by Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Kakching, Yengkhom Achouba; Sub Divisional Officer Waikhong, Takhellambam Millikan and Principal of the school Moirangthem Nabamani as the presidium members.

Teacher of the school Paki Huyam delivered the keynote address and spoke on NEP 2020 .

Speaking at the occasion, Yengkhom Achouba said that many provisions have been added in NEP 2020 to enable the students to make the best use of the acquired knowledge for the welfare of themselves and the society.

Focusing on enhancing the hidden talents of the students, he said that measures are being taken up to explore such talents of the Government school students to provide them the right guidance to nurture their innate talents exposing them to competitions in district and State level.

The programme was followed by a press meet at the Principal's room.

Addressing media persons, Principal Moirangthem Nabamani said that NEP 2020 is fully implemented in the school being a model school in the district.

To mark the 3rd anniversary of implementation of NEP 2020, today's celebration is held in the school as per the directives of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Ever since NEP 2020 has been implemented, the school has been adhering to the guidelines and provisions of the policy, he added.

The Principal also expressed gratitude to the officials of the District Administration, Zonal Education Officers, teachers and all concerned for their support towards the implementation of NEP 2020.Expressing joy over the school's performance in Class X and XII Board Exams 2023, the Principal said 'Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Sandumba Achouba is All India topper for Class X and XII Board Exams in terms of pass percentage average' .

It is the first time in the history of 30 years that JNV Sandumba Achouba has been able to achieve this remarkable feat for the Shillong region.
