Imphal, January 24 2025: As observed across the country, the Manipur State Commission for Women celebrated National Girl Child Day at Nirvana Fundation Children Home for Girls in Ghari Awang Leikai today.

Speaking on the occasion, MSCW Chairperson Th Tiningpham Monsang said that National Girl Child Day is celebrated every year on January 24 to highlight the rights, education and welfare of girls.

She continued that this year.

National Girl Child Day is being celebrated on the theme, "Empowering Giris for a Bright Future".

Th Tiningpham Monsang also stressed on the need to raise awareness about the importance of empowering girls and creating an environment where they can thrive without the barriers of gender discrimination.

Nirvana Foundation secretary S Sobhana and members of MSCW were also present at the event.
