Udyam registration drive held at Ukhrul

Ukhrul, April 13 2026:
A one-day Udyam registration drive for villages under Ukhrul block was successfully conducted at the conference hall of MYB, Hamleikhong, Ukhrul, with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship and creating awareness among local residents about the benefits of Udyam registration.
The programme was graced by AS Angam, District Fishery Officer of Ukhrul and Kamjong, as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, General Manager of District Industries Centre (DIC), Ukhrul and Kamjong, Themreiyo T Awungshi highlighted various government support schemes and financial assistance available to aspiring entrepreneurs.
He emphasized that individuals intending to start businesses should register under UDYAM to avail better access to loan facilities, subsidised interest rates, priority sector lending, and credit guarantee provisions aimed at supporting startups and small enterprises.
Resource person Ramsan Koireng, District Horticulture Officer, Ukhrul and Kamjong, elaborated on the key aspects such as selection of high-value crops, profitability and market demand, diversification of business areas, and the use of modem inputs and technology.
Horreisung Khamrang, DMM Ukhrul, under MSRLM, Dept of RD & PR underscored the importance of promoting local enterprises to ensure sustainable livelihoods in the region.
Around 50 individuals were registered under UDYAM during the drive.
The programme was attended by Shimreipam W, District Social Welfare Officer, Ukhrul, along with officials from MSRLM, Cooperative departments, and other staff.
The programme was organised by the General Manager, District Industries Centre, Ukhrul annd Kamjong under the Raising and Accelerating of MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme, with the objective of fostering sustainable business development and empowering local entrepreneurs of Ukhrul block.
