Imphal, April 09 2026: The Senior Citizens Society Khundrakpam AC marked World Health Day with a bang at RAM School in Pangei on April 7.The event, themed "Together for Health, Stand with Science", was a melting pot of community spirit, with members and students from Saraswati Institute of Management and Paramedical Science (SIMPS), Pangei, turning out in force.

Dr Kshetrimayum Kala Singh, guest of honour, drove home the message that health is a team effort.

"We need to trust science and doctors, not hearsay", he emphasized, bemoaning the spread of misinformation.

The event also drove home the importance of a clean environment.

Participants were urged to properly dispose of waste materials like plastic bottles, old papers, and discarded clothes, and to keep water bodies clean.

Chief guest Irungbam Mani Singh (ex-Pradhan of Khundrakpam Gram Panchayat) and Irungbam Mani Singh, ex-Pradhan of Khundrakpam Gram Panchayat; and Khagembam Rajendro Singh, president of Senior Citizens Society Khundrakpam AC also attended the event as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

As part of the observance, a free medical camp was also held, where about 90 people received treatment and free medicines were distributed.
