Farmers training programme held at Thoubal

Thoubal, May 04 2024:
A three day long farmers' Training programme was jointly organised by district veterinary office Thoubal/Kakching, District Mission Management Unit (DMMU) and Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) at Paona hall of Wangkhem Huidrom Leikai, Thoubal on Saturday.
The programme on the topic 'Poultry management, scientific rearing of pig and livestock insurance' was held under the supervision of National Livestock Mission (NLM) .
The programme was attended by Wangkhem GP pradhan Asem Modhuchandra Singh as chief guest, retired professor Laishram Bojoyku-mar Khuman as president, Wangkhem GP ward member Wangkhem Pratap Singh and DMMU Thoubal district mission manager Rajkumar Nikita as guests of honour.
During the programme, district veterinary office Thoubal joint director P Go -jendro Singh said that the programme was organised with the aim to spread awareness on livestock insurance for the farmers.
He urged farmers to reap the benefits of various schemes of the union and state government to achieve the target of food self-sufficiency.
The event was al�o attended by retired specialist (poultry) Kh Somendro Singh, district veterinary hospital, Thoubal VO Diana Kshetrimayum and Yairipok veterinary hospital VO K Brojen Singh as resource persons.
Around 120 trainees at tended the programme.
