The All Zeliangrong Students' Union (AZSU) has strongly condemned the barbaric act of shooting one Kadihemang Abonmai (35) s/o Nampuilungbou Abonmai of Makhan village on the bank of Makhan river at about 3.50 pm of June 13.A press release issued by the AZSU said that Kadihemang Abonmai and some of his friends were having a picnic party on the river bank when the police commandos in civilian fatigue came in two Gypsy's and opened fire without any reason injuring Kadihemang.
The two Gypsy's were reportedly embossed with the letters IWC (22) MN-01/3617 and IWC (22) MN-01/3619 .
Accusing the State Government and its security forces of targeting Naga population, the AZSU demanded judicial enquiry into the incident and punish the guilty police commandos as per law of the land at the earliest.
It further appealed to all like-minded and right-thinking citizens and organisations to extend cooperation in the event of AZSU launching any form of agitation on the matter.
