The 10-day theatre workshop organised by the Bashikhong Dramatic Association under the sponsorship of Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi kicked off on June 3 last concluded on Sunday (June 13) at the Bashikhong High School.
Director of state planning department, K Mangi graced the concluding function as chief guest in which the president of the organising association, S Ibochoucha.
Deputy director of state art and culture department, W Mera, director of the workshop KB Sharma and member of the Bashikhong Zilla Parishad, K Rajen attended as guests of honour of the function.
During the 10-day workshop, 30 female artistes took part.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, K Mangi said that the art and culture of the state is one of the most popular in the globe.
The indigenous theatre forms like Leela and other need to be improved and preserved by extending cooperation of the people to the artistes of the state.
A talker at the function, Lecturer, L Amuba expressed the need of hard works of artistes of the state to become professional artistes.
There are many welfare schemes for the artistes sponsored by the state and central governments.
Artistes should hunt the schemes and avail the benefits so that they can work in the field with full concentration.
Workshop director, Rajen stressed the need for imparting training to the artistes during workshop.
Ibochouba, speaking as president of the concluding function said that since the founding of the Bashikhong Dramatic Association in 1983, as many as 30 dramas had been staged.
The concluding function was marked by distribution of participation certificates to the artistes who took part in the workshop.
