Jwalamukhi Bn apprehends TPLA Chairman

Imphal, July 10 2018:
Troops of Red Shield Division apprehended the Chairman and a hardcore UG of the proscribed Thadou People's Liberation Army (TPLA) on July 7 .
Based on an information regarding the movement ofthe Chairman of TPLA on NH-2, on a silver coloured Maruti Suzuki near Phadinga Mor of Imphal (West) district.
The apprehended cadre was identified as Nekholean Lhouvum @ Boss (46) of Haibung Village, Kangpokpi district.
On investigation, he revealed that he had raised the UG group of TPLA in the year 2015, which had been involved for extortion, and other nefarious activities in Keithalmanbi, Kangpokpi & Motbung area.
He also revealed that he has hidden a large quantity of arms and ammunition in general area Songben and Gunphaibung.
Based on this information, a joint operation along with police representatives of Saikul and Kangpokpi Police Station was launched and a total of six AK-47 Rifles, one M-16 Rifle, two A-l Rifles, eight magazines of AK-47, one magazine of M-16, three magazines of A-1, 217 rounds of 7.62mm, 111 rounds of 5.56mm and a large quantity of other /war like stores were recovered during the search operation.
An FIR has been lodged at Sekmai Police Station and the apprehended cadre along with the recovered items have been handed over to the station on July 8 .
