Imphal, May 26 2025: The Delhi Meitei Coordinating Committee (DMCC) has condemned the use of force against women protesters by the security personnel and the Central forces' restriction on farmers accessing their paddy farms at Thinungei.

In a video message, DMCC women's wing member Shubharani Nongmaithem announced full endorsement of the civil disobedience movement launched by COCOMI.

Denouncing the excessive force used by State and Central forces against women protesters marching to Raj Bhavan yesterday, which left at least seven women injured, she criticized the MLAs for staying silent despite Manipur's identity being insulted by the Central forces by forcing the concealment of Manipur signage on a State Transport bus.

Saying that people took to the streets as elected representatives stayed silent on crucial matters, she asserted that MLAs who don't understand their duties should step down.

She also condemned the alleged misrepresentation of social activist Ashang Kashar by some Kuki individuals over a fake social media post and lauded his efforts in fostering unity among people.

Keisham Sangeeta, DMCC women's wing spokesperson, condemned the incident at Thinungei where Central forces restricted a group of farmers from accessing their fields.

She alleged that the defence personnel's decision to restrict farmers from tending their fields, instead of taking action against Kuki militants, indicates their support for the militants.
