4th Chinzak Festival to give regional flavour

After the successful conduct of Chinzak Festival (III)-International, Innovative Youth Society in association with BOSS Juices, Imphal is all set to launch the fourth edition, Chinjak Festival (4) at the regional level with participants from various ethnic communities of the North East Region of India for the first time at Imphal.
Informing this to media persons at its office at Kwakeithel here today, Kh Athouba, Managing Director of Board of Chinjak Festival, 2013, stated that along with 35 stalls from Manipur, the festival is targeting to open 45 stalls including stalls from Assam, Nagaland and Meghalaya.
He further stated that the Sema and Ao Nagas of Nagaland, Karbi, Bodo and Assamese from Assam and Khasi from Meghalaya will be bringing their various mouth watering traditional and indigenous foods items.
The festival will also setting up exclusive stalls for Handloom and Handicrafts providing an amazing range of goods at offer prices for forthcoming Ningol Chakouba Festival and visiting tourists.
BOSS Juices, which is the associate partner of the festival, will be offering two tonnes of best quality fresh apples with special offer for the Ningols of the State during the festival, he said and added that on the last day of the festival, the local fish farmers would be offering indigenous fishes like Pengba, Ngaton and Khabak at reasonable prices.
The Innovative Youth Society would continue to strive for an inclusive participation from all the ethnic communities of the 7 sister States of North East in future and would try to expand the venture of promoting food tourism of Manipur and North East region in different parts of the country, he added.
He further informed that a comprehensive food tourism festival called Chinzak Festival - Regional will also be organized by Innovative Society in the early part of 2014 at New Delhi.
