State reports two deaths, 135 new cases

Imphal, October 13 2021: The state on Wednesday reported two new death cases and 135 new positive cases out of 2646 samples tested, registering a posi-tivity rate of 5.10 per cent against Tuesday's 5.18 per cent.

The active caseload rose to 1459 out of which 202 (13.85 per cent) are in home isolation, 423 (28.99 per cent) in CHICs, 490 (33.58 per cent) in CCCs and 344 (23.58 per cent) in hospitals.

Among the hospitalised patients, 81 are admitted to 1CU/HDU wards, 65 are on oxygen support and 23 on ventilator support.

However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support at JNIMS even though it has 175 patients.

On the other hand, there are two patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.

As of Wednesday evening, 547 beds including 101 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.

There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Tuesday evening 2685 beds are available in different Covid Care Centres and 420 beds (26ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.

So far, the state has recorded 92,963 positive cases and 1515 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.

The current month has recorded 1779 new cases and 34 fatalities out of which 901 new cases and 14 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.

According to official reports, the 135 new positive cases included 134 people (72 male & 62 female) from among the general population and one jawan of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were detected at RIMS (4), JNIMS (10) and other testing centres (121) .

The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (30), Imphal West (80), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (l), Ukhrul (11), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Kangpokpi (2) .

All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

The two fatalities reported in the last 24 hours were from Imphal West and Ukhrul districts.

None of them had received Covid vaccines and with this, the cumulative number of deaths has reached 1889 .

In the last 24 hours, 107 patients were discharged from home isolation (16), NIMS (14) and CCCs (77) .

The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,22,363 (general population - 1,18,053 and CAPF personnel - 4,310) .

Number of recovered cases is 1,19,015 (general population - 1,14,730 and CAPF personnel - 4,285) and number of active cases is 1,459 (general population - 1,439 and CAPF personnel - 20).The recovery rate is 97.26 per cent.

On Tuesday, 858 D-type and 180 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.

Altogether 8525 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 12,33,108 including 5,61,797 fully vaccinated individuals.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (42,462), Imphal East (27,060), Thoubal (9389), Churachandpur (10,094), Kangpokpi (2769), Tamenglong (3272), Bishnupur (9095), Senapati (2216), Ukhrul (2851), Kakching (6362), Chandel (2308), Noney (1066), Tengnoupal (1048), Jiribam (1020), Kamjong (888) and Pherzawl (463).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (629), Imphal East (446), Thoubal (172), Churachandpur (159), Kangpokpi (59), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (189), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (38), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,434 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,346 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 4,29,210 tests per million population against the national average of 4,19,626 TPM.

Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, only 2646 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 5.10 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.19 per cent.
