The good service of nurses is important as that of doctors in treating patient, said MLA, O Landhoni who spoke at the capping ceremony of the eighth batch of the trainee nurses of the Manipur Nursing Institute, Tentha in Thoubal district today.
Giving her address as chief guest of the ceremony, O Landhoni further said it is sure to treat for illness during the life time of a man.
Like that of having great role of doctors in treating a patient, the service of the nurses attending the patients is also important.
Nurses should discharge their duty sincerely with sacrifice.
As Manipuri girls are well adapted in the profession of nursing, they have place in hospitals and private clinics outside the state.
She has also met various nurses from the state serving in hospitals outside the state, Landhoni added.
Apart from MLA Landhoni, the ceremony was also attened by MLA Moirangthem Hemanta, MLA K Meghachandra, director of state health services, Dr K Motilal, Dr Moirangthem ongbi Pratita and chairperson of the Manipur Women Development Corporaiton, Ak Mirabai as guest of honour.
Superintendent of Thoubal district Hopsital, Dr Manichandra, Chief Medical Officer Dr N Ibochouba also attended the function as special invitees.
On the occasion, the principal of the institute, Sarda capped 15 trainee nurses of the first year and administered oath.
Position holders in the first, second and third year exams of the institute were also given cash prize award.
Landhoni also donated Rs 10,000 to the institute while Meghachandra and guest of honours also donated Rs 5000 to the management committee of the institute.
