Solar Power Plants under NESIDs scheme inspected

As the demand for electricity continues to rise, the Government is undertaking efforts to strengthen renewable energy infrastructure in the State.
Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency (MANIREDA) Director Dr Sharath Chandra Arroju, IAS and Deputy Commissioner Kakching U Chaitanya, IAS, jointly inspected the 132/33 kV substations at Elangkhangpokpi and Kakching on April 2, 2026.In these locations, MANIREDA is setting up 600 kWp and 800 kWp grid- connected solar power plants respectively under the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS).
The inspection was attended by DGM MSPDCL, officials from MSPCL and MANIREDA, district administration staff, EPC contractors and project consultants.
Field-level issues were discussed with the officials concerned and resolved on the spot.
The projects are expected to be commissioned within the next 2-3 months.
