Essential items distributed to widows

Bishnupur, July 28 2024: INDIAdonates, an initiative of DevPro, in association with State partner New Life Foundation Manipur distributed essential items to selected beneficiaries in Moirang Assembly Constituency affected by the recent floods and hailstorm in the State.

The distribution ceremony was held at Naranseina Community Hall.

Notably, the distribution initiative was launched on July 25 with the goal of handing over essential items to 700 selected widows who were either directly or indirectly affected by the disasters.

So far, 584 widows have received the relief items which include cooking oil, rice, milk, fermented fish and salt.

Speaking in this connection, Dr Lamabam Pishak, general secretary, New Life Foundation Manipur shared that essential items have been distributed at Khudekpi, Tronglaobi, Ngangkhalawai, Naranseina, Sunushiphai, Phubala and Moirang Municipal Council Ward No 1, 3, 4 and 12 .

The last distribution ceremony to mark the end of the first phase will be held at Thamnapokpi on August 5, he added.

The Government has extended aid to the people affected by the floods and hailstorm, however, INDIAdonates and NLFM came together to provide assistance to those who were not covered under such State aid, he explained.
