Imphal, June 19 2024:
Deeply concerned over the restriction on movement of Meetei ever since the eruption of the ongoing conflict, International Peace and Advancement (IPSA) said that the government of India has been waging a proxy war in Manipur by using the Kukis.
According a statement of IPSA, government of India has long been planning confinement of Meeteis within the valley districts as if living in a large pond and has now achieved the same.
Amidst such a situation, the state government could do nothing but act like a puppet government.
The state government's peace committee, Sugnu peace committee and Jiribam peace committee have been rendered meaningless, IPSA said, adding that Meetei are being evacuated from their villages to allow the Kukis torch the abandoned villages without any restrain.
The IPSA statement issued by its general secretary Sanajaoba Nongthombam further said that Meetei people are well aware of India government's support in the Kukis' war against the community.
Meeteis have no one to lodge their complaint and none to discuss with but the Meeteis are unexpected to give up anything concerning the motherland and entire communities will be drown when the motherland perishes, the statement added.
