Imphal, October 13 2016:
In pursuit of the popular demand for enforcement of Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) or a similar mechanism in the State, members of JCILPS Women Wing today marched to the residences of Uripok AC MLA L Nandakumar and Andro AC MLA Th Shyamkumar.
The JCILPS Women Wing volunteers led by their convenor Thongam Apabi first marched to the Nagamapal residence of L Nandakumar.
They shouted many slogans at the MLA’s residence demanding enforcement of ILPS or a similar mechanism in the State.
However, the MLA was not at home.
Nonetheless, the JCILPS Women Wing activists told family members of the MLA to ask Nandakumar to declare his position on the ILPS issue.
The women activists then marched to the quarters of MLA Th Shyamkumar located opposite Kanglapat.
There they talked about the ILPS issue with the MLA.
Shyamkumar said that he would declare his position within the next three days on drafting and passing a Bill for protection of indigenous people.
