Sharda seeks appointment with Nadda, others

Imphal, June 07 2025: BJP Mani-pur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi has sought an appointment to meet party president JP Nadda and other Central leaders to facilitate formation of a popular Government in Manipur.

Sharda Devi departed Imphal for New Delhi yesterday at 1.45 pm in an Indigo flight, accompanied by BJP Manipur general secretary K Saratkumar.

Sharda Devi's Delhi visit came after two significant meetings among BJP MLAs.

On May 30, 25 MLAs met at Th Biswajit's official residence at Sanjenthong, and another gathering was held at Thambal Shangel, attended by Sharda Devi and a team of BJP MLAs, where they decided to push for a popular Government in Manipur.

Sharda Devi reportedly travelled to Delhi to update the party's Central leadership on the position of Manipur's BJP MLAs and officials.

The Sangai Express has learnt that Sharda Devi has sought an audience with BJP National president JP Nadda, slated for Monday.

According to another source, Sharda Devi has requested a meeting with BJP Central leaders too.

The source added that all BJP MLAs may travel to New Delhi if necessary to persuade Central leaders to facilitate the formation of a popular Government in Manipur.

Meanwhile, Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata, who was in Delhi, returned to Imphal today.
