Thoubal, October 02 2024: In a suspicious incident, a cow was found shot to death in its shed at Khangabok under Thoubal district yesterday night.

The family that owned the cow reportedly heard a gunshot around midnight but remained indoors due to fear.

After a while, they ventured outside to investigate and found the cow lying dead in its shed with a bullet wound.

The cow belongs to one Khundrakpam Ramo (Ajaoba) Singh (48), s/o Kh Ibochouba from Khangabok Part III Leipat Leikai.

Kh Ramo strongly condemned the cruelty meted out to an innocent animal and urged the concerned authority to look into the matter.

In this connection, Leipat Citizen Club (LCC) Khangabok Part III convened a public meeting and resolved to excommunicate the perpetrators if they happen to hail from the area.

Further, the gathering also resolved to launch protests if the concerned officials fail to take up appropriate legal action.

A complaint has also been filed with the OC of Thoubal PS .
